Letter to the EdVestors Community

Jun 27, 2018

To the EdVestors Community:

Last night, Mayor Martin J. Walsh and School Committee Chairman Michael Loconto announced that EdVestors CEO Laura Perille is their preferred candidate to step in as interim superintendent for the Boston Public Schools. We at Edvestors are proud of all that Laura has accomplished by leading and building EdVestors since its inception, and that Laura has been asked to take on this important role for the city of Boston. We respect her deep commitment to Boston’s students and support her willingness to answer this call to public service.

As an organization, EdVestors will continue to serve its mission through our programs and initiatives that play a crucial role in the landscape of public schools in Boston. EdVestors is well situated to handle this change, with a strong staff team at all levels of the organization. Our team, with support of the Board, will continue and expand our efforts during this time.

Marinell Rousmaniere, our long-time Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, will step into the role of Acting CEO during Laura’s leave of absence. In addition to her nine years at EdVestors, Marinell has successfully served as the leader of two nonprofit organizations. She will be supported by our strong and seasoned management team: Janet Anderson, our Executive Vice President, who has been with the organization since its earliest days, Anuradha Desai, Senior Vice President for External Relations, and Amy Luster, Vice President of Finance & Operations. The EdVestors Governing Board is confident that Marinell, along with the organization’s talented and committed staff, will ensure the organization successfully continues our important work.

With your support, I know EdVestors will remain a critical player in the field of education in Boston.

Wendell Knox Chair, EdVestors Governing Board
