What We Do

We spotlight and seed school-based efforts with potential for system change through the School on the Move Prize and the Racial Equity Seed Fund and spread impact through BPS Arts Expansion, Zeroing in on Math, and Career Pathways.

Mathematics

Our work in Mathematics centers on developing and sustaining identity-affirming and relevant educational opportunities for Boston Public School students to support their success in college and career.

EdVestors partners with teachers, school leaders, district administrators, and external collaborators to help improve the mathematics educational experiences and outcomes for all students in Boston Public Schools.

What we know matters is that educators and students have access to high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) in mathematics because strong implementation of rigorous and research-based curriculum materials has a positive impact on student achievement. We also know that educators require high-quality professional development opportunities in order to deliver mathematics instruction that meets the needs of all students.

EdVestors envisions that:

  • All BPS students, especially those who identify as being from marginalized communities, experience engaging and affirming mathematics learning environments;
  • All BPS students are prepared for broad academic and career opportunities by experiencing increased success in mathematics and developing strong identities as mathematics learners; and
  • All BPS students experience equitable access to opportunities to engage in advanced mathematics courses across the district.
