Current Work
EdVestors partners with teachers, school leaders, district administrators, and external collaborators to help improve the mathematics education experiences and outcomes for every Boston public school student. Our goal is that all students experience success in mathematics and develop strong identities as mathematics learners that prepare them for broad academic, career, and social opportunities.
Our work is currently done through a three-pronged strategy involving school teachers and administrators, district leaders, and external partners. More specifically, we collaborate with schools to support improvements in mathematics teaching and learning, strategically engage with district leaders to align with district priorities and support major initiatives, and partner with external colleagues to identify and collectively solve challenging math issues within Boston public schools.

School-level grantmaking
Our Mathematics Learning Communities (MLCs) Grant brings together math teams across schools to study curriculum implementation practices and build strong and resilient math communities. School teams comprised of teachers, coaches, school leaders, and students establish problems of practice unique to their school contexts and devise plans to collect and analyze data gathered from classroom visits.
District-level partnerships and community-level coordination
We believe that coupling our school-based cohorts with deep, sustained partnerships with mathematics champions and leaders throughout Boston is essential to ensure that our work leads to system impact that lasts beyond a given grant period.
We engage with leaders from the BPS Mathematics Department and across the district to understand and support priorities related to mathematics teaching and learning.
Secondary Mathematics Pathways Design Fellows
The Mathematics Pathways Design Fellowship is a stipend fellowship for educators in Boston who want to improve the fourth-year high school math course options for Boston Public School students. The program addresses two pressing issues in mathematics pathways – the misalignment between graduation requirements and preparation for college mathematics and the misalignment between training and preparation for the labor market. The goal is to bring together passionate, knowledgeable, and creative individuals to design solutions that improve the relevance of mathematics and increase access to college and career opportunities.
Research Study Opportunity for BPS Math Educators
This is an opportunity to participate in a research study aimed at testing tools for teachers and school leaders in BPS. This three-year study will explore how self-reflection can empower educators and how school-level data can support curriculum implementation. Participation will help develop resources that can benefit the broader math education community.
